  • Is it ok to give your pet any due or overdue vaccinations, heartworm testing, and/or fecal testing while with us today? (please select one of the following)
  • Is it ok to microchip your pet while your pet is sedated? (please select one of the following)
  • At Salzburg Animal Hospital we require preoperative lab work to ensure the safety of your pet and allow us to adjust any medications that may be harmful in their individual case. If you have any questions please discuss this with your veterinary team.
  • We believe in multi–faceted pain control. This includes injectable and oral medications given before, during and after surgery. Immediately after surgery we will use post operative K-Laser (cold laser therapy) and Phovia - fluorescent light therapy to stimulate cell growth and healing. This also decreases pain and inflammation along the incision site.
  • Certain breeds can be at risk for underlying cardiovascular disease, on a case-by-case basis we do offer pre-surgical cardiovascular ECG reviews to add an additional measure of safety for your pet. Please discuss this with your veterinary team.
  • Because anesthesia affects each pet differently, as in human medicine, there is the possibility that your pet could experience complications which would require extensive treatment and potentially immediate life saving care. If/When possible we will contact you first regarding your pet’s situation. These procedures may lead to additional expenses beyond our foresight. Please discuss this with your veterinary team.
  • Your pet’s procedure will be done between 8:30am and 12:00pm. When your pet’s procedure is completed, one of our technicians will call you with an update, as well as let you know when to pick-up. Normal pick-up times are between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, however on occasion pets may be ready to go home sooner or may need to stay later which is dependent on each individual case.
